Grown in the rich waters near Nushima in Minami-Awaji City,The Awajishima Burger is a cutlet made from hamo (Japanese conger eel), a premium summer fish!

What is a hamo from Awaji Island!

Because the seabed in the waters near Numa Island is made of sludge and soft sand, the skin of the hamo (conger eel) from Awaji Island grows thin and soft without abrasion of the belly. In addition, the Naruto Straits keep the meat tight and the fast currents supply fresh water to the seabed, which is rich in crustaceans and fish that serve as bait, resulting in delicious hamo that grow up to be delicious in terms of meat quality, richness, and color.

The crispy texture of the Awaji Island hand-pulled somen noodles and the deep-fried hamo cutlets are irresistible!

The perfect balance of the moderately sweet special teriyaki sauce, the sweetness of Awajishima onions, and the refreshing ume plum sauce, accented with sansho (Japanese pepper), makes the dish crispy!
